The Artist - Stuart Gosswein

Stuart Gosswein is a painter and sculptor with degrees from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and George Washington University. He is co-founder of the Downtown Artists Coalition (DAC), an organization dedicated to preserving and developing artist studio spaces in Washington. He is also a member of the Committee of 100 on the Federal City, with a mission to support the tradition of the L’Enfant and McMillan Commission Plans for Washington, DC.

His subject matters range from figurative work to still life and landscape.  Mediums include paintings, drawings, and sculptures.  Although primarily a representational artist, Mr. Gosswein periodically ventures into abstract venues when most expedient for conveying a specific idea. The artist has also designed several memorials.

Mr. Gosswein has participated in numerous group exhibitions and several solo exhibits. Since 2008, he exhibits primarily from his studio. Click here for resume.
